10 Cook Out menu items you should try

Cook Out's menu can be a little daunting, so here's where we try to make sense of it all! We're going to detail 10 different items on the Cook Out menu that you you should try this weekend.

The "Cook Out Tray"

One of the best things about Cook Out is that although the menu is enormous, one of their most popular items helps make it more digestible. The “Cook Out Tray” allows you to choose one main food, two sides, and a drink; you can upgrade the drink to a milkshake for $1.00. This will do you a lot of good as we go further into the more specific Cook Out menu items in our list.

Milkshakes

Milkshakes are perhaps one of the most well-known items at Cook Out, which is a little surprising given the fact this chain’s known for having food you’d find at… a cook out. But that’s all besides the point. The shakes at Cook Out are spectacular, and go with pretty much anything on the menu.

Hushpuppies

Hushpuppies are such a commonality here in the South, it’s hard to expect anything but tasty goodness when you’re biting into one. And if I’m honest, I didn’t think I’d ever say what I’m about to in reference to a fast food chain – but Cook Out’s hushpuppies are genuinely next level.

Cook Out Style burger

Listen – the Cook Out Style burger doesn’t do anything special. It’s got slaw, mustard, onion, and a dash of homemade chili. But for the price you can’t beat the taste! You can add more mustard, mayo, ketchup, pickles, onions, lettuce, or seasoning upon request.

Sweet tea

If there’s one thing we love across the South, it’d have to be sweet tea. We do it better than the rest! That said, you should give Cook Out’s sweet tea a fighting chance. It’s delicious, and if you’re not looking to shell out the extra $1.00 for a milkshake, is the perfect choice to complement your tray.

BBQ sandwich

It’s hard to go wrong with a good barbecue sandwich. And Cook Out’s does not disappoint in the least. You can also get a BBQ plate or chicken strips if you don’t want the food on a bun; these latter two options come with your choice of slaw, fries, and hushpuppies.

Corn dog

An inspired choice – I know. But the corn dog is one of America’s time-tested traditions! Who doesn’t love some of that breaded, deep-fried goodness? They’re cheap, delicious, and good for almost any weekend event. The Cook Out corn dog is one of our favorite, go-to options when we visit.

Quesadilla

I bet you weren’t expecting the word “quesadilla” to pop up on this list, but here we are! Cook Out offers beef, chicken, or cheese quesadillas in their tray option. If you’re just ordering something from the value menu, you’re in luck! The cheese quesadilla lives here, and it’s got bang for your buck!

Hot dogs

Also located on the Cook Out Value Menu are the various types of hot dogs available to consumers. You can grab a normal ketchup-mustard-onion hot dog or branch out and try the Mustard Relish Hot Dog. Either way, you’re going to have a good time!

Wraps

We’ve come to terms with the fact choosing one particular wrap from Cook Out’s menu is far too daunting a task. Instead, we’ll just tell you that you should try them! They’ve got a ton, including: Bacon Ranch Wraps, Crispy Chicken Cajun Wraps, and Crispy Chicken Honey Mustard Wraps.
