Eating is vital to the human condition – physically and spiritually. And here in the South, we’ve got so much good food it’s almost unbelievable. So it should it excite you when we say that more than 90 Alabama restaurants will give consumers lunch and dinner deals from August 10 to 19.

Why, you ask? Adventure!

We too often eat the same things and get caught up in routine. Alabama Restaurant Week is an annual event that’s been trying to foster serendipity in Yellowhammer State lunch breaks for the past seven years.

Restaurants participating in the event  have the option of offering specials at both lunch and dinner, or at just one of the two. Two-course lunch specials will set you back anywhere from $10 to $15, while three-course dinners are a bit more pricey; they range from $10 to $40.

“This is a great opportunity for people to try restaurants in their hometown and other places in the state while saving money,” said restaurant week coordinator Courtney Austin. “There are no coupons or discount books to buy or bring.”

Diners at participating locations simply have to ask for the Alabama Restaurant Week Special. You’ll be able to try new food in any of the following locations:

  • Auburn
  • Birmingham
  • Fairhope
  • Gulf Shores
  • Huntsville
  • Madison
  • Mobile
  • Montgomery
  • Orange Beach
  • Tuscaloosa

You can find a full list of restaurants taking part in the event at Alabama Restaurant Week.

To show off stellar deals you’ve found or be a part of the social media wave that’s sure to come over the next week, use the hashtag #DineAlabama18. That way, you can help others find great food and find some more for yourself. Share your pictures with us and maybe you’ll see them on our Facebook page!

The event is being run by the Alabama Tourism Department, and we hope to see you out and trying new food!
