Bessemer, AL is home a national park and many other historical places of significance. It’s just outside of Birmingham, and makes for a solid day trip out of city – you could even argue it’s a part of the Central Alabama fabric. But did you know Bessemer also plays host to one of the state’s premiere fun-in-the-sun destinations? No? Well, let me fill you in!
Alabama Splash Adventure is a water park in Bessemer that locals love. If you haven’t been or have been looking for something similar in Central Alabama, then the search is over. You can make this quick drive in no time, and with the park’s huge host of attractions, you’ll be thankful for taking the jump. For fun, here’s a small sampling of what’s available at the park:
- Castaway Island – A multi-level water play area for children.
- Drop Zone – 30-foot tower drop ride.
- Warrior River – Classic “lazy river” fare.
- Tilt-A-Whirl – A fast-spinning ride for all.
- Royal Express – A family-friendly train ride that goes off the rails.
- Rampage – A wooden roller coaster.

Tickets range from $24.95 to $29.95 and toddlers under the age of 2 are allowed free entry. Season passes are also available for $79.95. The park is open until early August, so there’s still plenty of time to get your money’s worth.
