Enjoy these awesome events this weekend.
What's up everybody and welcome to your Central Alabama Weekend Update! It's a jam-packed weekend here as we head into March, but don't let that scare you off. We've got some awesome events lined up for you!
Art on the Square
Kick off your evening Friday night with ‘Art on the Square,’ an event hosted by Michelle Browder’s ‘More than Tours.’ There’ll be music, history, and of course – lots of beautiful art. Find your way down to the Court Square Fountain at 6:00 p.m. in downtown Montgomery for this free, fun event.

Wetumpka's Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras has been in high gear the past few weeks here in Alabama, but the action continues with Wetumpka’s own celebration on Saturday. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and lasts until about 4:00 in the afternoon. While there will be tons of great food and fun, don’t forget about the parade which rolls out at 1:00 p.m.
Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee
Moving on over to Sunday at 12:15 p.m., and you can find yourself in Selma for the 54th annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee. In what is always a massive event, more than 35,000 people are expected to descend on the town to participate. While there will be other activities all weekend long, this is absolutely the culmination.
Winnie the Pooh at ASF
And last but certainly not least is the arrival of ‘Winnie the Pooh’ at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. This kid-friendly, timeless classic is opening at ASF this weekend, and you can show up for the first performance at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Join Christopher Robin, Pooh, and friends for good times during this 65-minute show.
But hey - that's it for now. If you'd like more weekend ideas, be sure to join us on social media. We'll do our best to keep you up to date on what's happening around town. But until next time, this has been Central Alabama Weekend!
