Chick-fil-A restaurant in AL served TSA agents free lunch

No matter where you stand, I think we can all agree a little human decency goes a long way. The government shutdown is affecting federal workers in a pretty big way, and this Chick-fil-A in Montgomery, Alabama, went above and beyond to help furloughed TSA workers at Montgomery Regional Airport.

The restaurant in question is Chick-fil-A Eastchase, which – no surprise here – is located inside the city’s “Shoppes at Eastchase” shopping center. It’s one of the go-to lunch spots for Montgomery; nearby Auburn University at Montgomery students would attest to this.

And so it’s only natural that the Eastchase location stepped up when it was time to give back. On Friday, TSA Agents employed at Montgomery Regional Airport were served free lunch by Chick-fil-A as a gesture of good will.

While no pictures of the good deed actually exist, we spoke to franchise owner Gary Soriano who said he felt it was the right thing to do.

“They’re continuing to serve our community even as they’re not getting paid,” Soriano said. “It was just our way of showing a little support.”

Soriano – who said he and his wife use Montgomery Regional Airport regularly – claimed it wasn’t a huge decision for him, and that “we just sent it.”

A total of 24 plates were given out, meaning that everyone left with a full stomach. They were given box meals, each coming with an assortment of tasty treats:

  • Chicken Sandwich
  • Waffle Potato Chips
  • Chocolate Chunk Cookie

Eastchase Chick-fil-A’s commitment to the community is just another reason we love those waffle fries and delicious chicken nuggets. And who can argue that the service you get there is second-to-none?

Chick-Fil-A has said they try to serve the community in a Christian way, referencing Bible Verse Matthew 5:41: “If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.” The new attitude is part of an “extreme service makeover,” wherein Chick-Fil-A is trying to go the extra mile in fast food.
