‘Forrest Gump’ returns to theaters for 25th anniversary

“Forrest Gump” is perhaps one of the most immediately recognizable titles in the American lexicon. It’s got classic characters, a timeless story, and it’s culturally relevant. It was one of Tom Hanks’ biggest roles and stood the test of time as a true cinematic achievement. For these reasons, the movie will be making a limited return to theaters in celebration of its 25th anniversary.

If you want to take part, here’s how.

Fathom Events is running the operation and you’ll have four opportunities where you can catch the movie. It’s playing at two theaters in Montgomery simultaneously, so take your pick.

  • Chantilly 13 – 10477 Chantilly Parkway, Montgomery, AL 36117

You can catch the movie at 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. on either June 23 or June 25.

  • AMC Festival Plaza 16 – Vaughn Road, Montgomery AL 36116

You can see the movie at 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. on either June 23 or June 25.

If you’re outside of Montgomery, you can use the theater locator to try and find showings near you. It looks like tickets will run you $13.75 regardless of age or location, so you’ll be paying a bit of premium. But you’ll be able to catch “Forrest Gump” on the big screen for the first time in years!

So run like Forrest and get your tickets before it’s too late! You don’t want to miss this opportunity… unless of course you’ve watched the movie a million times back in high school like we did.

If that’s the case, you get a pass.
