Kritters, runs, farmers markets and more – Central Alabama Weekend Update (5/31/19)

Here's what you can look forward to during the first week of June!

Hey, everyone - it's time to look at what's coming up over the next few days. There's a lot happening across our beautiful state, so let's jump into your Central Alabama Weekend Update!

2019 Jubilee 8K

Our first event kicks off bright and early at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. Join the rest of Montgomery as we participate in the 2019 Jubilee 8K. This year’s run supports a charity in support of Montgomery Police Department. The run begins at Old Alabama Town in downtown Montgomery, so come out and get some exercise!

Prattville Farmers Market

If running isn’t quite your speed, then head over to the Prattville Farmers Market on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. It’s the first time this one will be making its debut in 2019, so all the produce will be as fresh as it gets. Plus, it’s a great way to support your local growers and farmers. The event takes place on Doster Road across from Pratt Park!

Terrell Owens Alumni Game

The third annual Terrell Owens Alumni Basketball game will be happening down at Alabama State University. Entry is $15.00 to the Dunn-Oliver Acadome, and the event’s going to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. And if you missed that dunk from last year, then you’ll want to be around as he goes for a second one.

Kritter Kids Kountry Korner Grand Opening

If you haven’t been paying attention to what’s happened around here on Central Alabama Weekend, then you might have missed our sneak peek of Kritter Kids Kountry Korner in McKenzie, AL. This animal sanctuary is run by a couple who absolutely love animals, and they’re hoping you make the drive out. And believe us: the drive is 100 percent worth it!
