Lynx Kittens Pounce into Montgomery Zoo

The Montgomery Zoo unveiled three Canadian lynx kittens on Tuesday.

One of Alabama’s go-to spots is the Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum. It’s a staple in the River Region, and the community is in for special surprise next time they visit. The Montgomery Zoo unveiled four new Canadian lynx kittens on Tuesday. These animals are some of the biggest felines in North America, are super cute, and will make a great addition to the zoo’s already impressive plethora of animals.

The zoo is calling this new family the “Flintstones,” and they’ll be growing up right here in Montgomery; their names are┬áPebbles, Betty, Bam-Bam and Barney. The kittens will be on display every day for the foreseeable future depending on what sort of care they need. We’re very excited at this new development, and if you haven’t been paying attention, now’s the time to start! With summer in high gear, the zoo has been running events every weekend and introducing all sorts of new exhibits; the lynx kittens are a small part of the larger picture.

But wait: there’s more!

That’s not all that’s come to the zoo recently – there are new pygmy hippos, porcupines, and perhaps most exciting of all? The addition of “Stingray Bay” at the beginning of the summer. We covered that in one of our videos, so check it out when you get the chance. It’ll help you plan your next trip to the zoo and see all of the amazing attractions within. Don’t forget to take a trip on the zoo’s Skylift, which takes you over a large portion of the enclosures.
