Monster Trucks, Craft Beer, and More – Things to do in Montgomery (1/11/19)

Monster trucks, craft beer, music and more this weekend around Central Alabama.

It's our first rundown in the new year here on Central Alabama Weekend, and we are already looking at a jam-packed 2019 full of awesome events and things to do. Let's explore some of the great stuff coming at you this weekend in and around Montgomery.

BTW Showcase 2019

To kick the weekend off, why not join BTW for their 2019 Showcase at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center? They’ve got two options available – Friday at 7:00 p.m. or Saturday at 4:00 p.m. These students are some of the most talented around town, so come on out, support their school, and enjoy good music.

Event Information

Bitter Constituent Release Party at Common Bond

If you went to BTW’s Friday night show, you can mosey around for a bit Saturday morning, then head over to Common Bond Brewers at 3:00 p.m. They’ve been working on a new beer with other craft houses around Alabama, and this’ll be its debut. You’ll have until 10:00 p.m. that night to try this new offering.

Traxxas Monster Truck Destruction Tour

Maybe you’re not into the craft beer scene – that’s OK. Monster trucks arrive at the Garrett Coliseum for two shows on Saturday, one at 1:30 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m. This one’s a great opportunity if you’d like to entertain the kids or just need something to do on a Saturday afternoon. How do you go wrong with monster trucks?

Event Information

Da Gump Getdown

Later that evening, five DJs will battle at The Sanctuary from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The show is for all ages, but you can expect a $5.00 cover charge at the door. You can request all sorts of different music to be played at the event, but any Top-40 piece of music will be ignored. Come down and experience some new tunes!
