Festivals, Pokemon, Mother's Day and more: it's all a part of your Central Alabama Weekend Update! So without further ado, let's get into it and take a look at what's happening over the next couple days.

33rd Annual Cityfest

Kicking things off on Friday night is the 33rd Annual Prattville Cityfest! More than 15,000 people are expected to be in attendance. Opening night festivities are free to attend, and you can show up Saturday morning for expanded activities; entry to Saturday’s events will be $2.00. There’ll be arts, crafts, and so much more.

Taco Libre 2019

If you haven’t had enough in the way of festivals, you can head over to Taco Libre at Union Station in downtown Montgomery that afternoon. The event is one of the River Region’s premiere, annual events for food and fun. Exchange your dollars for pesos at the gate to enjoy all the good food your heart and stomach desire!

Detective Pikachu

Detective Pikachu is set to make its debut this weekend, starring Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith. This new take on an old formula will definitely bring you and yours plenty of laughs, and it’s totally family friendly. I mean, just look at how cute that little guy is. Jacob, you like Pokemon, right?

Mother's Day at Montgomery Zoo

Of course we have to celebrate all the mothers in our lives this weekend because it’s Mother’s Day! And what better way to celebrate than by heading over to the Montgomery Zoo on Sunday, where mommies get in for free all day long? Head out on Sunday, hop on the zoo’s sky lift, and give mom a big hug for us!
