Sawyer Brown to perform in Montgomery

Calling all Central Alabama country music fans! The Montgomery Performing Arts Centre at Renaissance Montgomery announced a new act coming to the capital city this August.

We are excited to share that Sawyer Brown will perform at the MPAC in downtown Montgomery on August 29.

The band was founded in 1981, but the group’s fame really took off when they won the talent competition show “Star Search” in 1983.

Sawyer Brown is known for their three, chart-topping hits.

For instance, “Step that Step” was first released in 1985,

Then came “Some Girls Do” in 1992

And lastly “Thank God for You” released in 1993.┬áIt joined “Step that Step” and “Some Girls Do” as the Sawyer Brown songs to reach number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The country pop and rock band reached peak popularity on the country music charts in the ’80s and ’90s, but has been releasing music and touring ever since. Most recently, they came out with the “All-Time Greatest Hits” album in 2017.

Sawyer Brown has been touring around the United States all summer long. They will be making their stop in Montgomery in between shows in Ohio and Florida.

The Montgomery concert is not officially listed on the band’s website yet, but according to their website, meet and greet passes are available at most of their concerts for only $20.

If you want to buy tickets for the concert, you don’t have to wait long. Tickets are available for purchase starting this Friday, June 10 on Ticketmaster or locally at the MPAC box office.
