National Astronomy Day

If you’re looking to learn more about the night sky, then head down to the Gayle Planetarium on Saturday for films, guest speakers, and learning. Festivities kick off at 6:00 pm. The annual event is being organized by Troy University at Montgomery to commemorate National Astronomy Day.

Shakespeare Birthday Celebration

Want to enjoy a play and celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday? Then stop by the Alabama Shakespeare Festival on Saturday to join in on the fun. There will be a lecture given at noon, and just-opened Twelfth Night will be playing twice – once in the afternoon and once in the evening.

Montgomery Walk of Life 2018

Joy to life is organizing another Walk of Life for downtown Montgomery this year, and it’s here! If you’re trying to find a way to get some good exercise while supporting a good cause, then the search is over. You’ll need to register for the event through the Joy to Life website, but we’ll be waiting for you! The 5K starts at 8:30 am in downtown Montgomery.

Alabama Book Festival

The annual Alabama Book Festival is coming to Old Alabama Town this year, and will offer a variety of free workshops to attendees. You’ll be able to learn about podcasting, writing, or poetry in this year’s classes, which feature stellar talents who have worked across the country on a diverse array of projects.
