Yes! The Alabama National Fair is finally here! But what else? Let's take a look.
Hello, fellow Central Alabamians! This week, Montgomery is showing out with a bunch of great events, and you're invited. Let's see what's happening around town on this last weekend of September!
65th Annual Alabama National Fair
Of course we have to mention the Alabama National Fair! It’s one of the biggest events we’ve got – people come from miles around! If you’re coming through or have lived here forever, experience this event anytime between September 28 and October 8. Live music from Trace Adkins will also be a part of things. You seriously can’t go wrong with the Alabama Fair!

Zombie Walk and Prom 2018
The Zombie Walk and Prom is always one of Montgomery’s most popular events. The community will come together in makeup and outfits to walk the streets of downtown Montgomery as the living dead. The event also acts as a food drive for the Montgomery Area Food bank, so be sure to bring some canned goods and give a little back.

Mustache Run 5K 2018
The Mustache Run is a 5K dedicated to raising awareness about men’s health. The event’s scheduled for 8:00 am and will run until 11:00 am. To run, it’ll cost you $30, and if you just want the t-shirt, that’ll run you $20. Arrive at Common Bond Brewers, hang out with some friends, and contribute to a good cause.
Food Truck Friday at the Shoppes
Foodies unite! The Shoppes at Eastchase are continuing their series of Food Truck Fridays. This week, Fire Meats Wood will be set up outside from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Lawn games will be provided by the LAF Game Company, and the best part of this whole deal? Apart from the food, it’s totally free!
9th Annual Oktoberfest
Breweries from across the country are descending on Hampstead this weekend. More than 20 breweries, in fact. There will be two hours of unlimited tasting, and there’ll even be a Oktober fest-themed menu for the evening. The cost to enter is $25 at the door, and you’ll even get some live music as an added bonus!
Sculpture Garden Opening Celebration
The highly anticipated Sculpture Garden at Montgomery’s Museum of Fine Arts opens Sunday. The celebration is set to begin at noon, and admission is completely free. There’ll be games and music, too, so don’t miss out on this stellar opportunity in the Capital of Dreams.
