Vicki's Lunch Van has lots of different foods, but what they're most known for is their delicious, peppery burger.
There are lots of burger joints across the South. In fact, you could argue that we’re connoisseurs of the delicious food. But not all cheeseburgers are created equal, and you’ll find that to be the stark truth after visiting Vicki’s Lunch Van in Montgomery.
It’s a nondescript building set off of a highway leading into the city’s downtown area. If you aren’t looking for it, chances are you might drive past it every day on the way to work – I know I did. Had I known what was there, I’d have been going for lunch a lot more often. The building doesn’t attract attention to itself, and the sign is pretty small. A reflection on the humble employees and owners inside.
Vicki Lammon and Carson Hubbard are the duo who lead the charge down at Vicki’s Lunch Van; the business is named after Lammon. They are perhaps among the nicest, most sincere individuals you’ll find across Central Alabama. Both make it a point to remember you and your order. Every time you walk into Vicki’s it’s like a homecoming, and that’s why folks keep returning day in and day out.
Lammon said that even after her massive success, she still imagines coming into work with no one to serve. Every day that customers walk into her business is a good day, as far as she’s concerned.
And while we can talk for ages about how awesome the owners and employees are, we can’t forget the reason for the season: amazing burgers. A full meal will cost you around $10 at Vicki’s, a totally affordable price point for most folks’ lunch breaks. And while there are other options available, the Vicki’s Lunch Van burger is second to none. Lightly peppered and cooked to perfection, your mouth will be watering after having had a taste.
And believe us: like the customers we talked about before, you’ll be coming back for more.
Vicki’s Lunch Van is open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
