The Fourth of July doesn't fall on a particular weekend this year, but that doesn't mean we won't find some fun activities to enjoy. Check out our list, and watch the page for more as the holiday gets closer.
The Fourth of July is just around the corner. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fall on a particular weekend this year. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some great events for you and the family to enjoy. Let’s look at just a few of those now.
Fourth of July Boat Parade
Lake Jordan will play host to the Fourth of July Boat Parade on Saturday. This is the event’s first time running in 22 years, and Central Alabama is excited for its return. Participants’ boats will be judged and awards doled out to the winners, so show up for some fun on the water.
Montgomery Firefighter Challenge
The Montgomery Firefighter Challenge is a two-day event that’s taking over on Friday and Saturday. Competitors will face off Friday evening with individual and team competitions. They’ll pick back up Saturday morning with relay and tandem competitions. Attending the event is free.
Patriotic Concert (Prattville)
It wouldn’t be a Fourth of July without some patriotic tunes. The City of Prattville is hosting a 2-hour concert on Sunday night that is totally free for all. It’ll take place at the Pratt Park Amphitheatre, and all you’ve got to do is bring a lawn chair and blankets to enjoy the event.
We’ll be putting some more Fourth of July-related content on our site and on our Facebook. You can follow either of the below links to join us, making sure that you don't miss a beat in Central Alabama.
