We are well into February at this point, and there's no lack of awesome things to do over the next few days. Let's take a look at just a few of the events you and yours can enjoy this weekend in our rundown.
Get Out and Zip ON!
If you’re up for a little drive, why not head out to Troy’s Butter and Egg Adventures? They’ve got zip lines, laser tag, a 35-foot climbing wall, and more. It costs $18.00 a person, and you’ll get three hours of access from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00. Butter and Egg is one of our favorite summertime attractions, but there’s still a lot of fun to be had in cooler weather!
Stan & Ollie at the Capri Theatre
Stan & Ollie is the latest film to come to the historic Capri Theatre in Old Cloverdale. The movie tells the story of two comedians as they travel Europe in 1953, struggling to make a movie all the while. You can catch the movie at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday. And since we’re always looking for a good excuse to stop by the Capri, we may see you there…
Dr. Jovanni de Pedro Piano Performance
Pianist Dr. Jovanni de Pedro will be giving a free concert at the Montgomery School of Music on Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. He also serves an assistant professor at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. You can sign up by going to the Montgomery School of Music Facebook page. Come out and witness some of the best piano skills in Alabama!
Hank Williams Museum 20th anniversary
Our last weekend event takes us into downtown Montgomery. The Hank Williams Museum is celebrating two decades in its Commerce Street location, and they want you to come and join in the fun. There’ll be live music, and admission is completely free. Show up anytime between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to get a taste of Hank Williams’ legacy!
And that'll wrap things up for this week! Be sure to join us on Facebook or Instagram - we'll keep you up to date and in the loop about what's what around town. But until next time, this has been Central Alabama Weekend!
