Downtown Montgomery’s Baumhower’s is moving, but a new restaurant is taking its place

If you’re a fan of Baumhower’s and you eat at the downtown location, you’ll be sad to hear that it’s moving to the east side of Montgomery. In fact, we’re not sure as to where exactly it’s moving, but you’ll still be able to enjoy your delicious Baumhower’s within Montgomery. Plus – we don’t think the Eastern Boulevard location is going anywhere soon.

However, you’ll be happy to know that you’ll still be able to get your wings fix over lunch, as a similar restaurant is taking over the space. It’s called Wingfingers, and it’s also something Bob Baumhower himself has been working on bringing to the area. It’s supposed to be a “fast-casual” space dedicated to selling boneless wings and the like.

Bob said that the Wingfingers chicken offerings are “buffalo style” and “southern fried,” but that’s not all you’ll be able to get when you sit down for grub here. There will also be rice bowls, cole slaw, and a host of other dishes that he assures us are “quick and affordable.”

As for when you can expect the Wingfingers to open up shop… well, you’ll have to wait a minute. Bob told us that they’re looking to open up in about 60 days, which would put us in mid-September. So, you’ll have a new restaurant and a different buffalo wings recipe to heat up some of those fall nights as things start to cool off.

There’s also a Wingfingers location that’s being planned for Fairhope, but Bob tells us that the Montgomery spot should open first. The downtown Baumhower’s will be closed starting Friday, July 19.
