“What excites me about bringing Mahi Mike’s to the Prattville area is the community involvement,” said General Manager Terri Mason.

She said that she plans on partnering with Prattville area non-profits to foster this community engagement.

And while Mahi Mike’s is open for business, they aren’t open open just yet.

“Our grand opening roll-out will be within the next couple of weeks,” Mason said. They plan on starting a promotional campaign and trying to establish more foot traffic with this more concrete date.

Mason says her favorite dish is the shrimp-and-grits, which she claims is an award-winning recipe.

Mahi Mike’s: the Hurricane Michael connection

And the man behind these stellar dishes is Business Operations Manager Michael Ingram, who’s visiting from Florida after Hurricane Michael roared through the state in October.

“Right now my restaurant in Florida is undergoing some repairs after the hurricane, so it was a nice time to come up and try something different for a little while,” he said. “”I’m excited to kind of do something with a small footprint again and get back to cooking and not do so much administration.”

Ingram says that they try to create a warm, inviting space where customers can try dishes that may not have had before.

His favorite dish? the stuffed mahi-mahi.

“If I can serve people by giving them great food, then that’s great,” Ingram said.

Both Ingram and Mason said they are looking forward to serving and meeting the Central Alabama community.

Mahi Mike’s is located at 590 Pinnacle Place Prattville, Alabama.
