It's the first weekend of May, and we're looking at another jam-packed weekend full of fun events. Let's take a look at just a few of those now.

Flimp Festival

The Flimp Festival at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is a family-friendly day of fun. Visitors can participate in art-making projects, treasure hunts, chalk art contests, food, and entertainment. There will be dance, theatrical and musical performances jammed into this 4-hour event on Saturday, so don’t miss out.

Chunnenuggee Fair

It’s time for the 39th consecutive Chunnenuggee Fair in Union Springs on Saturday. The event has fun for everyone, including live entertainment from local singers. And if you’re like me, then you’ll want to check out the made-from-scratch cake sale. Plus – don’t forget about the games and rides available for kids!

Tuskegee Carver Festival

And yet another great festival comes into view this Saturday. The 15th annual Carver Festival will celebrate George Washington Carver’s love of art in a day-long extravaganza. Visitors can see a ton of great entertainment, whether it’s music, art, dance, or any other number of family-focused activities. Head on out to Tuskegee this weekend for great fun.

May the Fourth 4K

It just wouldn’t be a proper May the Fourth weekend without a May the Fourth event. Participants will dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters before running a 4K in scenic downtown Montgomery. The run will begin at Union Station and is completely free. And get this: there are even plans for everyone involved to grab pizza after – a perfect Friday night to start your weekend.

Unified Doubles Tennis Play Day

The Unified Doubles Tennis Play Day by Dream Court Montgomery is happening on Saturday. Tennis players with special needs will be paired up with other competitors during this 4-hour event. All competitors will receive lunch and get the chance to make it into the end-of-day awards ceremony. Interested tennis partners should email to preregister.
