Waffle House to be built next to AUM

If there’s a restaurant that’s sated many a hungry college student late at night, it’s almost certainly Waffle House. They’ve got some of the most delicious food around, so their sprawling reach across the United States is no surprise. According to the a building permit released by the City of Montgomery, there’s a new branch of this restaurant opening up right next to AUM.

The new Waffle House location will be situated across the road from Auburn University at Montgomery’s main entrance at 837 Taylor Road. The lot currently sits vacant next to a Shell gas station.

So, if you’re a student there or are just in the area, you can have all the late-night waffles you want without having to head down to the grocery store. Nothing’s better than a blueberry waffle after a night out with friends at 2:00 a.m.

According to a building permit issued by the city of Montgomery, construction of the restaurant will cost more than $250,000, resulting in a building that’s 1,689 square feet. There’s no opening date currently announced, and there’s no mention of the franchise on Waffle House’s official website.

So, basically, if you’re a senior down there at AUM, you won’t have a whole lot of time to take advantage. Looks like you’ll just have to make up for lost time…
